So things in my life have changed quite dramatically in the last year, which is why I've been lax in my new postings and updates.

I met a wonderful woman and we started dating a year ago. Now we're engaged and planning a 2009 wedding. Yes, a year sounds like a short time, but there was an instant connection, and when you get old like me you don't even bother dating the people you don't connect with immediately; so when you do meet that person, you know it's right and you go for the gusto. I honestly couldn't be happier.

My creative interests have also taken a turn. I felt like my people photography hit a plateau in mid-2006, right around the time I moved to the city I'm living in now. I was so inspired while living up north, and had so much more space to work. Now I'm in an urban setting, and while the apartment I lived in for a little over a year worked fine for shooting, and my house now is quite nice, it's not the same as being up there.

I've loved my time on deviantart, and I'll always continue to stay somewhat active on the site, commenting and whatnot, but I don't see myself posting new work in the near future, except for one final project I want to shoot.

The project is a culmination of all the techniques and ideas you've all watched me work on here over the four years I've been sharing my work with you all and learning from you. It's 21 photos, one model, one theme, and based on my "dismembered" photos like "About face" (see below).



I've been planning out the photos for about a year now, and I think it will be a perfect way to culminate my exploration of photography and the female body. My creative interests have changed, and now I'm focusing on my writing and my cooking (yes, that's art).

I have a few models in mind that I might ask (all former models, and I think you know who you are, so send me a note if you're interested), and once I'm done, I'm going to sell the series as a single poster for a really low price (as in, no profit for me) to thank all of you who have watched and commented over the years for your friendship. I'm also going to print 10 copies of a book of the prints and give two to the model, two for myself, and the other six for gifts for some very special people in my life.

I'll let you know the progress of this, but I will hopefully be able to shoot it in the next couple months.

And then I can share it with all of you.
